Children’s Sleep ingredients and instructions
We all know the BENEFITS of getting a good night’s sleep. Contrary to popular belief, the more you skimp on sleep, the less productive you are and the worse off you are overall. And it's especially important for children and teens to GET GOOD SLEEP!
So sleep is in, but how can you make sure you get a better night of sleep? If you don’t want to use over-the-counter and prescription medications, an essential oil blend is one type of all-natural sleep aid you can choose. Essential oils can be a powerful way to help you relax and sleep better.
This essential oil blend called Sleep has the following benefits:
Balsam – calms, relieves fear, worry, and anxiety
Orange bergamot - calms, soothes, destresses, fights depression
Spearmint – relieves the stress and worries of the day to promote sleep
Ylang ylang – calms, relaxes
Palmarosa – relaxes, helps to reverse exhaustion
Passion flower – calms an anxious mind, reduces anxiety and hyperactivity
Wormwood – calms down the nervous system, reduces insomnia and stress
Coconut oil base – has “lighten up” energy potential in it, find fun, laugh
This blend can be placed directly on the skin. I advise placing a drop or two on the soles of the feet, on the lower belly, and near the clavicle. It may also be used in a diffuser.
- The calming effect of essential oils has been the subject of research studies that have found that essential oil odors can lead to lower levels of anxiety, a more positive mood, and a higher level of calmness to aid sleep.
- Anxiety is something that kids struggle with and that can lead to problems with focus as well as have an impact on kids’ sleeping habits. Essential oils are a practical, easy-to-use and natural solution which can help calm kids struggling with anger, anxiety, and sleep issues.
- They are a safe way to relax your child by calming the mind and bringing on a sense of tranquility. Great at bedtime to get a peaceful night’s sleep. FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
- Put a few drops of this sweet smelling blend in an aromatherapy diffuser or massage into your child’s skin on his or her neck or chest and on the soles of the feet. Our blends already have a carrier oil in them so are made for use right away. No need to find your own carrier oil and mix in.
PLEASE NOTE: Keep away from eyes. NOT for internal consumption. External use only. Do not put in mouth.

The use of essential oils can provide delightful and therapeutic experiences, but it is crucial to prioritize safety to prevent any unintended consequences. One primary precaution is to avoid direct contact with the eyes, as essential oils are potent and may cause irritation or discomfort in sensitive areas.
If essential oil accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, it is essential to act promptly and cautiously. Immediately flush the affected eye with cold water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring that the water stream is gentle to avoid additional irritation. If the irritation persists or worsens, it is advised to seek medical attention. Preventive measures are equally important. When applying essential oils topically, be mindful of their proximity to the eyes and consider using a carrier oil to dilute the essential oil if necessary. After handling essential oils, it is crucial to wash hands thoroughly to avoid inadvertently transferring them to the face or eyes.
Additionally, it is advisable to read and follow product-specific guidelines and warnings. Certain essential oils may be contraindicated for certain individuals, such as those with specific medical conditions, pregnant women, or young children. Understanding these considerations and using essential oils with mindfulness and respect for their potency ensures a positive and safe experience.
Please note that My Zen Skin Care does not recommend the internal use of its essential oils.
